[Highlights] As FIDA 2017 Intl. Convention (FIDACON) Begins Today in Bahamas

The 36th Triennial Federacion Internacional de Abogadas (International Federation of Female Lawyers FIDA) International Convention (#FIDACON2017) began today 14th November 2017 at the Convention Centre of The Grand Lucayan Resort and Spa in the City of Freeport on the beautiful Island of Grand Bahama, The Bahamas.

The Conference which has its theme as: “The Economic Empowerment of Women and Children in an Evolving World” will feature sessions that will provide delegates with presentations that span a wide range of topics and feature from distinguished presenters from all over the world. Sessions which began today Tuesday, 14th November will feature different formats including round table discussions and Q&A sessions.

FIDACON 2017  Charity  Initiative 

FIDA selected as the Convention Charity, the Grand Bahama Children’s Home (GBCH). To this end, at 9:00am on the morning of Thursday, the 16^th November, 2017 delegates will be transported via bus from the Convention site to the Grand Bahama Children’s Home where charity  donation will be presented. The donation to the Home will be followed by a tour of the City of Freeport before the Delegates are returned to the Grand Lucayan at 12:30pm.  There will be no sessions on that Thursday morning.)

Lucky Bucket Auction

At FIDACON 2017, there would be a “Lucky Bucket Auction”.  Where delegates are encouraged to bring a gift for the auction that they believe someone would be interested in bidding on. This is a fun activity and gives delegates the opportunity to walk away with something unique from another region.

Special Events – Honouree’s Luncheon, Cultural Night & Gala Ball

In its effort to provide all delegates with a truly memorable experience, the FIDACON Planning Committee included as part of the conference registration package, a complimentary ticket to both the Honouree’s Luncheon and the Gala Ball and Closing Ceremony. Also, on Wednesday 15th November, dinner will take the form of an evening of culture and entertainment. Country delegates are encouraged to prepare a brief performance displaying their culture to all delegates attending FIDACON.
