The Co-Chairman of the maiden Annual Dinner of the Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, (BOSAN) Mr. Paul Usoro SAN has said one of the major reasons why BOSAN has decided to hold annual Dinner event is to afford the new silks the opportunity of meeting and interacting with the older ones in a social and relaxed atmosphere.
Speaking at a Press conference yesterday, Mr. Usoro SAN while highlighting the activities that would feature during the first ever SANs Dinner noted that there would also be the welcoming of newly elevated Silks into the BOSAN.
In his words; “ Every year new senior advocates are elevated and we previously have not had a forum where the older ones will more or less welcome and introduce them. It was decided that a dinner like this would afford an opportunity to introduce them. It would also be their day of celebration.
Scheduled to grace the SANs Dinner are Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter S. Nkanu Onnoghen, Dr. Christopher Kolade CON and over 200 SANs from accross the country.
Mr. Usoro SAN disclosed that SANs are encouraged to attend the Dinner with their spouses as the event would be a strictly family affair.
The Dinner which would hold on the 11th of November, at the Grand Ballroom, Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos would begin with a cocktail at 6pm. while the Dinner proper would begin at 7:pm. Dr. Christopher Kolade CON would deliver the Dinner Lecture which would center on the theme of ‘Leadership’.
The Dinner Planning co-chair also disclosed that in the morning of the Dinner, BOSAN would hold its quarterly meeting were issues of interest to the nation and the legal profession will be discussed.
The BOSAN Dinner would henceforth hold annually in November.
Present at the press conference were Chief Felix Fagbohungbe, SAN Treasure of BOSAN and Mr. Seyi Sowemimo Secretary/Scribe BOSAN and Mr. Paul Usoro, Co-Chairman BOSAN Dinner Planning Committee.
